Still Wonderful
I'm puzzled by the negative reviews; I have been here several times over the past 3 years and always found the food and service excellent. AND--it is in my opinion the most beautiful room in Chicago; the high ceilings, light, and comfortable furnishings make it really special. Wonderful for brunch in particular. I only wish they kept the bar open later on nights when the symphony plays, so one could go there for a drink afterwards!

Totally disappointed, lousy food
The service was good, but menu didn't have many choices, and food is totally bland, overpriced. We spend more than $100 on both of us and left restaurant totally hungry.

Disappointed
I have been to this restaurant several times and had excellent food and service previously. I was very disappointed in the menu change for the Saturday and Sunday service. My husband had the breakfast burrioto and it was tasteless and bland. I was disappointed that several items on the old menu had been eliminated on the Sat. Sun. menu. We come downtown on the weekends for shows and always counted on Atwood for excellent quality and service. I doubt we will be frequenting the restaurant in the future.

RUDE WAITER
Wouldn't go back. Too many other places in the city to deal with this kind of treatment.

Quirky decor, fresh and flavorful food
This is a great spot for lunch. I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago and it was great. The restaurant itself is very corky, colorful and very lit. There are huge windows on all side which let light in both from washington and state street. The food was very flavorful and fresh, great combination of flavors. I had the pasta and not only was it cooked to perfection but it was a very decent portion of pasta. Their duck quesadillas are also very tasty and I hear the same can be said about their breakfast. Go for breakfast, lunch or dinner--you won't be disappointed.

Great breakfast spot
This is a great place to stop and watch the world go by...expecially after a long day of shopping on State St. Request one of the spectacular window seats or just admire the dark, rich wood inside the restaurant - either way it is all good.
