    AL! "Where's the BEEF?"

I give Al's 3 stars because the beef is actually really good. The hot dogs are good. The fries are ok, but nothing to rave about. On the occasion that my taste buds tell me that it has to be Al's, I usually buy the sandwiches there and then head over to t

Go to Mr. Beef on Harlem

This place blows!! I agree with the last post.. No seats for paying customers..? Save your money , go to Harlem and Irving park rd. you can get two tasty beefs for the price of one over priced crappy Al's. Oh yes you can sit at Mr. Beefs in comfort..

    Love it!

I moved away from Chicago for 3 years and one of the reasons I decided to move back was for the food! I missed AL's beef! The atmosphere is pure Chicago city living and the beef is as good as ever. A true comfort food.

    Very Poor

I was born and raised in the neighborhood. Al's is not what it used to be. Sandwhich is very small for the price and the attitude is "So What". They might be famous but not price worthy.
