Go to Mr. Beef on Harlem

This place blows!! I agree with the last post.. No seats for paying customers..? Save your money , go to Harlem and Irving park rd. you can get two tasty beefs for the price of one over priced crappy Al's. Oh yes you can sit at Mr. Beefs in comfort..

    way overpriced!!!!!

I have had Italian beef and sausage combo sandwiches all over chicago and the suburbs, but I had one last friday and it cost over 9 dollars with no extras or sides, and was very small with not much beef.I complained and the staff, in unison swore at me and told me to leave!!! You can get way better and much larger sandwiches all over this city for half the price including fries and drink and served with a smile not the smug attitude i found at Al,s . would not recommend this place to my worst enemie!!!

    Love it!

I moved away from Chicago for 3 years and one of the reasons I decided to move back was for the food! I missed AL's beef! The atmosphere is pure Chicago city living and the beef is as good as ever. A true comfort food.

    Very Poor

I was born and raised in the neighborhood. Al's is not what it used to be. Sandwhich is very small for the price and the attitude is "So What". They might be famous but not price worthy.
