    Ehh

    For the price, this place is below average. Odd food choices and small portions. So many other great choices in Aville that this would be my very last choice for dinner. Charlies was much better.

    Where did Charlie's Go?

    Recently went with three friends to Acre. I will never go back. The service was slow, the food was ok. Very over priced for what you get. Why did they get rid of Charlies's??

    Big improvement over Charlie's

    Forget Charlie's. Acre is better in every department. The beer selection is leaps and bounds better than Charlie's. It's no Hopleaf, but we don't need another Hopleaf in Andersonville. The decor is warm and beautiful. The service is excellent. I've been maybe 15 times since Acre's opened and I've only had one error. Management then bent over backwards to make it right. Any time I have questions or need suggestions I've had knowledgeable and friendly feedback. The food is tasty and ever changing. It has some of the current restaurant standbys like, porkbelly, mac & cheese with bacon, bone marrow, etc.. but every day it's something different like octopus tacos, and chicken and waffles made with quail. Not super vegetarian friendly, but there are a couple of options. There are plenty of wonderful seafood choices. As for value - Sunday through Thursday you have your choice of any appetizer/salad, entree and dessert for $25. You could easily spend $40 a la carte for all three, so if you feel it's a little pricey, go on one of those nights. It's nice to have a New American style restaurant that isn't really just a rehash of a bunch of comfort foods. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

    Bring Back Charlies

    This past weekend, I went twice. Friday night for "fish and chips" , which at $17 per person, you would expect to be all you can eat. I asked for cole slaw and it was an additional $3 for about 2 tablespoons. The service was extremely slow, even though no one was in the restaurant. The total bill was $65 and there was not any liquor involved. Very pricey for mediocre food. On Sunday, we went for brunch a with some friends. All four of us would not go back, again service was slow and no one was in the restuarant. Eggs were overcooked and portions were small for the price. Please bring back Charlies!
